Places you should visit when you are in China

1. Beijing:

Beijing is one of the most historical places in the world and famous for a good number of reasons. The history of this massive capital dates back to 3000 years ago and there are some appealing historical relics are still available to entertain the curious travelers. The location is also famous for cultural expansion and National Museum of China. Beijing is considered as the third most populous city in the world and located in the northern part of China. The city is different from the other cities of the country as it plays an important role in the nation’s economy. Moreover, communications system in Beijing is also developed and the city is interconnected with numerous highs speed rail networks. The city has also been serving as the political headquarters for the country for past centuries while many of the renowned people have been buried in the city and their tombs have become visiting place for the local and international visitors. The seven UNESCO World Heritage sites have heightened the value of the city to the foreign visitors. Beijing climate is monsoon influenced and thus it is enjoyable to some extent. The inhabitants of Beijing follow different religions and they are culturally developed than the other nations. So, this is a great destination during the visit in China.

2. Shanghai:

Termed as the most populous city in China, Shanghai is the biggest city of the country. The city is also considered as the financial hub of the world as a large number of traders and businessmen gather here to deal with numerous products to be imported and exported. The colonial era buildings are one of the key attractions for the outside visitors. The sky touching towers and ponds has increased the beauty of the city in some extents. The city started gaining popularity for its geographical location like the Chinese coast, port locations etc. Since the 18th century, it has been playing an important role in the local and national economy. After the British occupation of China, it became the commercial center for the east and the west. A wide number of merchants and people came here for trading purposes and thus the city obtained its importance from everyone. The name of city has a special meaning – Upon the Sea and the history of the city has been characterized by different imperial rulers. The famous destinations of the city include the City God Temple, Shanghai Museum, The Bund, China Art Museum etc. A notable number of people come to visit the places every day.


3. Anhui:

Formed in the 17th century, the low-hanging clouds make the day for the people of Anhui province in China. The province is also famous for the Huangshan Mountains which have a nice view and the views look outstanding when they get amalgamated with the beautiful pine trees and granite rocks. Besides, the province is also noted for its literature, especially poems and paintings. The visitors are able to ride on the Mountain with cable cars. The architectural styles of some of the villages are wonderful as well. The province name also contains some historical aspects. Some of the parts of the province are mostly type of rural areas and the economy is based on agriculture. Since the province is located by a large river, irrigation became easier for the people and they grow different agricultural crops including rice and wheat. There are nine major cities in the province and the climates are different. Coals and coppers are the natural resources of the province but it remained backward still today for the regional disparity. The province is divided into two regions – northern and southern and rail network is the best way of communication here. The culture of Anhui is enriched with different traditions and norms and the cuisine is one of the bests of the world.


4. Fujia:

Fujian is a Chinese province that has been enriched with the blessings of nature. Formerly it was known in different names and it is mostly famous for the large mountains. The coastal cities have also adorned the province in a beautiful. The Maritime Museum is another attraction for the local and international visitors. The province has some colonial villas of the 19th century and this is also a transformation hub for some other destinations. The old town district is another important visiting place too. Since a good number of people have visited the place and inhibited here, this has become a multicultural place in China. The population of the province began with the Han people. Archaeological evidences prove that the province had been ruled by different dynasties in different periods. Each of the rulers had to get the right to rule the province by defeating the former rulers. Earlier, it was underdeveloped since there were no rail networks and after the 1950. The development took place in the province and surrounding locality. The economic growth began after 1970s as a huge number of people started inhibiting in the province. Now this is one of the attractive places for tourists from home and abroad.

Locally known as the Long River, Yangtze is located in China and the longest one in Asia. This is the only longest river that flows inside a country alone and discharges a large amount of water across the country. Besides, the river basin has accommodated one third of the entire Chinese population. The river has been playing role in the history of China and been an essential part of the country. Besides, Yangtze has some influential roles in the economy of China. The river is a great source of marine resources in the country and many of the endangered species have taken their shelter in the river. The Yangtze River is the greatest source of irrigation for the agriculture of China. Besides, it is playing important roles on transportation, sanitation of the country and also a great mode to war against the enemies. The largest hydro-electric power station of the world is located on the river. But with the development of industry and technology, the river has been polluted in different ways and wetlands are reducing to great extent. Some of the development initiatives like building an airport, railways and roads have been adopted alongside the river. This is one of the greatest places of China to visit.


6. Xi'an:

Xi’an is one of the large cities in China and renowned for different Chinese dynasties who have ruled over the country from here. Xi’an is also the capital of Shaanxi province and a great place for tourists and visitors. The place is also known for burial of hand-molded warriors with the first emperor of China – Qin Shi Huang. Located in the northwest part of China, Xi’an is the oldest one in consideration of Chinese capital. With the passage of time, the city has experienced different events and the name has also been changed frequently. The city has played important roles during the most important dynasties and thus was developed comparing the other parts of China. A massive development of the locality began since the 1990s and Xi’an earned its fame again and by the same time it turned into the center of industrial, cultural and educational hub of the northwest region. Different features have been added with the location which has made it into an emerging megacity in China. The history of the locality dates back to around 500000 years before the current days. The East Asian Monsoon has made the climate temperate. The transportation system of the city is made with the combination of metro, taxi and rail networks. This is a great place for the visitors in China.

7.  Huangguoshu Waterfall:

The 255 feet high waterfall, Huangguoshu, is located in China and one of the largest one in Asian subcontinent. The waterfall has got an exceptional look and water flows round the year in this place. The waterfall is physically located on the Baishui River in China under Guizhou province. The main waterfall is 67 meters high and 93.3 meters in width. The waterfall is one of the most impressive places in China and a great tourist attraction. The waterfall and the surrounding area have been termed as the Huangguoshu Waterfall National Park. A good number of people from home and abroad come here to enjoy the natural beauty. The waterfall with its charming look brings the tourists into the locality and thus the local economy is becoming stronger gradually. Due to the natural looks and views, the area has also been termed as the AAAAA (highest level rating) scenic area. There are different viewing spots of the waterfall and the views change following the location. The best views are available from the Waterfall Viewing Pavilion. The entire waterfall could be seen perfectly from this location and even the viewers can also touch the water from waterfall. Besides, there are some places where the visitors could get a bird’s eye view as well.


8. Zhangjiajie:

Zhangjiajie is one of the scenic areas in China and famous for the sandstone columns, caves, forests, rivers, waterfalls, large bridges and shelters for animals. The place is considered as a sanctuary for the endangered species in the region. The city is mostly famous as it has been declared as one of the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO. A diversified number of plants are found in the place which is not found in other parts of the world. The history of the city dates back to 221 BC and was named as Dayong. Evidences have been found for human living in the locality and that dates back to 100,000 years ago. Some of the other evidences also prove that the locality has experienced some of the days of the Stone Age. Besides, the cultures of the region have greatly been dominated by the inhabitants. Cultivation was difficult here for the mountainous landscape. This is now one of the greatest tourist attractions and welcomes the visitors in a very cordial and different manner. The local economy of the area is based on tourism. Some of the parts of the region are frequently used for filming. The tourists mostly come here for enjoying the natural beauties.

9. Changbai Mountains:

China is the country which has different types of topographies in its boundary. Some of them are man made while the remaining others have been built naturally. Changbai Mountain Range is one of the natural creations in China and located in the border between North Korea and China. The Mountain range is also referred in different other names and among the mountains, the Paektu Mountain is the highest one while the other peaks are over 2000 meters in average. This mountain range is also a historical place for the Chinese people and it is told that the range is the birthplace of an ancestor of a royal Chinese family. It is believed that Bukūri Yongšon was born here who founded two imperial families in China. The mountains in the range have also initiated three of the rivers in China naming – Yalu, Songhua and Tumen Rivers. The climatic conditions in the mountain are different from the rest of the weather of the country. Cold is severe here and lasts longer than the other parts of China. Rainfall is abundant in summer and autumn but lower in the winter and season. There are different sorts of flora and fauna are found here and there is also a protected area. This is a great place for the visitors out of China.

 

10. Lijian:

Famous for the Old Town of Lijiang as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lijiang is a city in the Yunnan province of China. Being a prefecture level city, the city has gained reputation around the world. Once the city was under the Mu family and also experienced rule of several dynasties including Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. The city holds the Baisha Old Town that had played a great role for Naxi people and different ethnic groups living and dominating in the locality. Silk embroidery was one of the most important economic activities here and the Ancient Southern Silk Road has crossed the city starting from Burma (currently Myanmar). The climate of the locality is subtropical for different reasons and the low latitude and high elevations is a key reason for this. The winters are dry and mild and sunny (infrequent). Transportation has been developed here and the international people enjoy the services from airports. Besides, buses and trains are also available for public transportation across the city. The most attractive place – the old town has a history that dates back to 800 years. Now the town has become a past relic and reminds the visitors about the charming days. The old town is also famous for the reasonable restaurants which serve the travelers perfectly.
