Aristotle – the Greek Philosopher, hardly is there any man who has not heard about Aristotle. The man was one of the most famous and smartest men the world has ever produced. We remember him even after his death and often use his wise quotes among us. He is well-known in ages because the man was a genius of logic and science. But nothing special is known about the man. Here goes some basic and interesting information about him that will make you amazed.

Son of a doctor

Aristotle was the son of a doctor. In fact, he was born in a noble family and his father was the private physician of the King Amyntas.

Wife & daughter shared the same name

Pythias was Aristotle’s wife. They had a daughter. The daughter was also named Pythias. It is a mystery that if it was his love for his wife or any other reason behind naming his daughter after his wife.

Nicomachus

This name is related to Aristotle greatly. It was the name of his father. He also named his son with the same name.

Lived in Athens

As a teenager, Aristotle arrived in Athens. He passed a notable part of his life in this city. In fact, he was in love with the city and developed most of his theories here.

Academy

Aristotle was a student of the ‘Academy’ in Greece. It was run by another great scholar and philosopher – Plato.

He was the inventor of Causality, a new form of science. It basically deals with the explanation of things that happen.

Aristotle wrote for both ordinary people and scholars. But a majority of his pieces were lost and only a few of them survived.

Aristotle was an influential philosopher. Both the schools of Muslim and Christian religious thoughts preferred his writings.

Died at 62

Aristotle died at the age of 62. But before his death, he was forced to close his school in Athens.
