Beautiful place to visit in Canada

1. Niagara Falls:


Niagara Falls is one of the most impressive places to visit in Canada and in fact this is the combination of three waterfalls in the same location. The waterfalls share the international border of the USA and Canada. The waterfalls are – the American Falls, the Horseshoe Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. Among the falls, the Horseshoe Falls is the most popular to the visitors. Though the boundary line was drawn in 1819, the issue is under dispute for some reasons like construction of different establishment and natural erosion. The Horseshoe Falls is the most powerful falls in the entire country and was formed by glaciers and water from a newly formed lake. A large number of national and international visitors come to see the natural beauties of the falls and the location has become a place for business, entertainment and industry.

2.Lake Louise:


Despite being a small village of Alberta, Lake Louise has turned into one of the most beautiful places in Canada and draws a notable amount of crowd. The naming of the hamlet is derived from the nearby Lake Louise which was named after a Princess and the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria. The history of the locality informs that once the village was a station beside the Canadian Pacific Railway route and the remains of the rail station is still preserved as Heritage Park. Since this is a small hamlet, there are not much facilities available for the visitors but the natural beauties and the snow-capped mountains provide a magnificent look. The entire location has a moderately small shopping center, grocery store, bakery and other necessary service stores and providers. The location is mostly famous for its ski areas and mountain resorts. The population of this hamlet is also few comparing the other parts of the locality.


3. The Cathedral-Basilica of Notre-Dame de Québec:

 

This is one of the oldest church in the country (established in 1647 and underwent destructions for a couple of times) and located in the Quebec City. The church is historically important for the population of the locality and is considered as a National Historic Site of Canada. Visitors gather in the cathedral round the year to observe a tranquil environment. It was promoted to a metropolitan church in 1844, then in to a minor basilica in 1874 and finally in to a primate church in 1956. The gradual development of the church has brought it into a higher position than the other churches of the region. The cathedral is also considered for its role in the beginning of French civilization in the country and also preaching Catholic faith in the locality that later spread across the country. The cathedral has also observed the cultural changes of the nation and took active parts in those changes as well.

 

4. Vancouver:


The city is considered as the most diversified city among the other cities of Canada for its natural locations, bustling life and living of the people. The city accommodates a large number of people from different parts of the world and is surrounded by mountains and beautiful locations. The city is used for different purposes and its reputation as a filming locations is higher than its outstanding beauty. Majority of the visitors come here to take part in outdoor activities, music and theatres. The Vancouver Art Gallery is one of the most attractive places in the city where the regional artists display their art works. The coastal seaport, Vancouver, is populated by over 600,000 people and thus the language diversity is one of the most notable thing here. Living quality in the city is adorable and belongs to the best class. Besides, the city also played the role of host for numerous national and international events.


5. Toronto:


Toronto is famous for its skyscrapers and lively metropolis. This is the most populous metropolitan area in the country and the green spaces have it more beautiful and lively. The iconic CN Tower is the tallest structure of the country while the High Park is the other attraction of the country for its different facilities like zoo, trails and sports facilities. A great number of people from different parts of the world gather in the city and thus it has become one of the most diversified area of the world and the city has also turned into a hub for cultural, commercial, and financial hub. Toronto is now dominating the larger share of business and cultural activities of the country and has become a recognized one as a multicultural city of the world. Settlement in the locality began around thousand years ago while the urban history for the city goes back to 1787. The city is intersected by a broad network of rivers, deep ravines and urban forests that has enhanced its natural beauties. Now this is a great destination for the tourists in Canada.

6. Ottawa:


The city is famous for the Victorian architectures and several popular museums which contain some special collections. The city is located on the southeastern province of Ontario and on the bank of Ottawa River. The Parliament Hill is the other attractive location of the city that attracts a good crowd. The Rideau Canal is another place that is popular in different seasons, especially in summer and winter. In summer, the Canal is filled with boats while the area is filled with ice-skaters in winter. The city is the fourth largest city in consideration of population in the country. Founded in 1826, the city has its participation of political and technological activities of Canada. The original boundaries of the city were expanded in different times and consequently it has gained an increased land area. The name of the city has been picked from the adjacent river with the name – Ottawa. The city is educationally advanced and a notable number of educational and research organizations are found here.
 

7.The Muskoka Lakes:


Surrounded by a few townships, the Lake Muskoka is one of the attractions of Canada. The lake is located between two parts of Canada – Gravenhurst and Port Carling. Since it attracts too many visitors, the lake location is surrounded by numerous cottages to entertain the guests. The lake is also connected by the Indian River to Lake Rosseau. The lake originates from the three different water bodies naming the Lake Joseph, Lake Rosseau and the Muskoka River. The lake appears in the history in the early part of 1600 and mainly it was under the domination of the Indian and missionaries also came here after some days when the locality was discovered by the explorers. Most of the areas of the locality is formed with rocks and the water bodies have plenty of marine resources and a perfect place for hunting, fishing or trapping. Farming in the locality could not be done for the rocky nature of the soil. Now this is one of the most wonderful places in the entire country.

8.  Cabot Trail:


Covering around two counties in Canada, the Cabot Trail is one of the most scenic places and in fact this is a scenic roadway. The highway provides a natural and scenic look to the travelers on the road and takes them to different places around in Victoria County and Inverness County. The entire route is about 185 miles in lengths and the entire length completes a loop through the Cape Breton Highlands. The highway is named after the explorer John Cabot. He explored the locality and landed in Atlantic Canada back in 1497. But there are some other views over his land in the locality and most of the schools believe that he landed in Newfoundland. The entire route was completed by 1932 and since then it has become one of the key attractions. The most spectacular view is available on the eastern section that follows the rugged coastline. The route also covers the Margaree River in the southwestern part. The road is internally referred as Trunk 30.

9. Banff National Park:


This is the most famous park in the country for its glaciers, ice fields and dense forests and was established in November of 1885. The park is about 110 kilometers away of Calgary in Alberta. The alpine landscapes have always been striking site for the visitors. The place was not that much familiar before the 20th century and good number of advertisements had to be done to make it known to the potential visitors. The roads were built with the assistance of the First World War internees and gradually the locality became developed. In the 1960sm, the area turned more developed and accommodation system grew up here while the number of tourists increased a lot. But with the frequent visit of the tourists, the ecosystem of the park was under threat and accordingly some revised policies were made to protect the ecology. The subarctic climate of the park comes with three different ecoregions that has enriched the ecosystem and thus a varied number of species are also available in this park.

10. The Bay of Fundy:

The Bay of Fundy is located on the Atlantic coast and has shared the borders of a Canadian province and Nova Scotia. The naming of the bay has some different opinions and it is believed that the name has arrived from a French word that refers to ‘split’ while some others are on the view that the name appeared from a Portuguese word. A third school believes that the bay has been named as French Bay by Samuel de Champlain, an explorer in 1604. The Bay of Fundy is famous for its tidal range which is considered as the highest tidal range of the world and the issue has also been acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records. The tides in the Bay have two highs and two lows in a day and they take place after approximately six hours and thirteen minutes. The tidal energy is being used to generate electricity with some simple mechanisms. Several islands are located in the bay and they have some scenic beauties that attract the visitors.
