1. Iguazu Falls:
Iguazu Falls are considered as the largest waterfalls in the world and located in Argentina. Though the exact location of the falls has been found in two countries – Argentina and some parts of Brazil. The falls have started from the Iguazu River that covers the border of Argentina and some parts of Paraná, a Brazilian state. The course of the river is in Brazil but the larger share of falls is in Argentina. This is one of most beautiful places in the country and the legend about the river narrates that this is related to the love of a deity to a mortal woman and the deity’s failure of love has enraged him, he sliced the river that created the waterfalls. The falls have been divided in so many parts for different islands on the river and often the waterfalls fluctuates into different levels. A good number of tourists in Argentina visit the falls and they are accessible both from Argentina and Brazil. The tourists could reach the falls using taxi and bus service once they land on the countries. The falls have been shared by two UNESCO World Heritage Sites and thus the locals and the authority of the respective countries are on the view to keep the falls free of pollutions. The climate of the falls belongs to humid subtropical climate and thus remains warmer than the other parts of the country.
2. Perito Moreno Glacier:
Argentina is one of the most attractive countries of the world and filled with different attractive places to visit and enjoy. The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the places that attracts crowds of tourists in the country and they participate in different sorts of activities here. This is a glacier located in Patagonia. The place has become one of the major tourist attractions and crowds remain round the year. The glacier has been formed by 250 kilometers of ice and the glacier length is 30 kilometers. This is one of the glaciers that is served by the ice field of Southern Patagonia. The glacier ices are also connected with the Andes system located in Chile. This is considered as the third largest fresh water reserve for its immense capacity. The glacier has been named after the explorer – Francisco Moreno. He is one of the great men in the Argentine history and protected the country from different border disputes with Chile and also explored the locality in the beginning of 19 th century. The average height of the glaciers is around 240 feet above the surface while the total depth of the glacier is 170 meters. Due to the pressure of weight from the ice helps to push the glacier into the southern part of Argentino Lake. Now this has become one of the most attractive places for trekking. Some tourist companies are conducting trekking in the glacier and there are several trekking methods available like mini trekking and big ice trekking etc.
3. Quebrada de Humahuaca:
Quebrada de Humahuaca is one of the important places in Argentina and historically this was a place of great importance. Human settlement in this locality began since the prehistoric time and evidences have been found that about 10000 years ago, the place was used for different purposes. In fact, this narrow mountain valley was a caravan route during the Inca Empire in the 15th century and connected different localities together. The place is now under the Jujuy province and located in the northwest part of Argentina. The distance of the Quebrada de Humahuaca is over 1600 kilometers from Buenos Aires. The mountain valley is bordered by Altiplano in the west side while the Sub- Andean hills are located in the east and the south is covered by Calles Templados. The name analysis of the mountain valley suggests about a deep valley. A part of the name is derived from the small city – Humahuaca. The city is so small that it contained only 11000 inhabitants. The Rio Grande flows through the locality during the summer season and remains dry in the winter. History denotes that the first human settlers in the locality were hunters and some of their remains are still found today. Formerly a hub for cultural, social and communication, Quebrada de Humahuaca is now a heaven for the tourists in the country. The location has played important roles in history and stage for different battles like the Spanish War of Independence. Now the Quebrada de Humahuaca is also a World Heritage Site.
4. El Chalté:
Argentina is enriched with a good number of mountains and different valley. The locations are extremely charming and attracts visitors from around the world come here to enjoy the natural views. El Chaltén is one of those places located in Santa Cruz Province and in fact this is a very small mountain village of Argentina. The village is on the riverside Rio de las Vueltas. The river is under the Los Glaciares National Park which is based on the Cerro Torre and Cerro Fitz Roy mountains. Both the mountains are popular for climbing and a good number of climbers try to climb the mountains. Since the village is near the mountains, the economic activities of the villages has been based on the climbing and the village had also been termed as the Trekking Capital of Argentina. The park was formulated as part of resolution of the border dispute between Chile and Argentina but now the scenarios have been changed to great extent. The entire locality has become a tourist spot and a source of income for the locals. The names of the mountain suggest that the mountains have been emerged from volcanoes and the world – Chaltén refers to smoke. Hence the name of El Chaltén appeared. There are some other visiting sites found as well for the wide number of visitors. Commercial camping is also available here but the seats are limited but the backpackers are able to pass the nights easily.
5. Los Glaciares National Park:
Argentina is one of those countries where there are a good number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites are available. The Los Glaciares National Park is one of such World Heritage Sites and located in the south west of Santa Cruz and the locality is also known as the Austral Andes. The park is near to the Chile border and a place of natural beauty. In fact, the location is a wonder for the world with its magnificent natural splendor. The park was developed based on some purposes and to attract the tourists in the region. This is a place for preservation and conservation of different natural artifacts. The park aims to show the natural Andean ecosystem and protect the hydrological sources of the locality. The park is also preserving the wild beauty and turned into a place for exercising different leisure activities. With an area of 7269.27 square kilometers, the Los Glaciares National Park is the largest park of Argentina and was established in 1937. The park name has been derived from the giant ice cap in the Andes. It is estimated that about 30 percent of the Los Glaciers are covered by ice and separated into two parts. The climate of the park belongs to moist temperature and the temperature goes down by 0.6 degree Celsius. The rainfall inside the park is also moderate and the summers are comparatively cold than the other parts of the country. Now this is one of the major attractions for the tourists and a good number of them are found round the year.
6. Bariloch:
Argentina is blessed with a huge number of natural places where people around the world come to visit and enjoy the views and activities. Bariloch is one of them in Argentina and mostly famous for several things like chocolates, skiing, exploration at the surrounding localities, hiking, Swiss alpine architectures and more. The town is also known as San Carlos de Bariloche and it is near the border of Lago Nauel Huapi which is a huge lake encircled by the Andes. The city is in the Rio Negro province in Argentina and geographically located on the base of the Andes. The city emerged as a place of tourist interest since 1940 and was built in the 1930s. The city provides different facilities to the visitors and mountaineering. The restaurants in the city serves delicious local and traditional dishes which is in fact another attraction for the tourists outside of the country. The naming of the town narrates the history of the locality when people used to cross the mountains to perform their activities. The city had a strong connection with Chile but after some explorations in the 19 th century, the locality turned into the property of Argentine government. The locality was settled by the Germans in the beginning and now the settles are of different countries including Austria, Slovenia, Chile and Italy. The re-modification of the city was done in the 1930 when the infrastructures were changed to a great extent.
7. Puente del Inca:
Puente del Inca is one of the most striking place in the country and the most visited places in Argentina where a large number of crowd across the world gather to observe the stone bridge. This is in fact a natural arch and takes the shape of a bridge. The bridge is on the Vacas River and it is located in Mendoza Province in Argentina. The name is also taken by an adjacent hot spring. It is speculated from different quarters that the spring emerged from the interaction of ice and the hot weathers. In ancient times, the locality suffered some snow avalanches associated with rocks and dusts and by this way the structure was formulated, believes scientists. The bridge has been visited by a good number of renowned people and Charles Darwin is one of them and he also did some sketches of the locality in 1835. The locality was also popular (still it is) as thermal resort and there was a spa where people came to cure their illness of specific types. Actually the hot springs had the power to heal some the diseases. There is still a spa will be found in the place. The tourists used to come on train on the resort and the train station is located nearby in an abandoned state. The railway station is now being used a mountaineering museum and exhibits the local culture and history. This is a great place for the climbers and trekkers.
8. Puerto Madero:
Puerto Madero is the wonder of latest discoveries in everywhere of the locality. In fact, this is the representation of the latest architectural designs and trend in the city of Buenos Aires. This is an urban planning community and often termed as the Puerto Madero Waterfront for its close association with the docking facilities. This is a barrio in Buenos Aires and most of the modern structures and establishments have been set here. The district has relieved from the troubles of docking ships, large cargo vessels and other water vessels entering into the country. Since the district is located in the river bank, it became easier to create the docking facility and before this facility, the water vessels were moored into a distance from the shore but now there are no such issues. Gradually the locality flourished and people from different parts of the country arrived here for the port functions. But to handle the extreme pressures from the increased inhabitants and cargo loads, the facilities decayed and degraded the area. Later, in the 1989, some other steps were taken to revive the port and the city with foreign investment. The plans succeeded and the city grew up by the side of the river. A good number of luxurious hotels, cinemas, theaters, offices, new buildings, private universities, elegant houses etc. were made. Now this is one of the most impressive urban renewal project and been attracting a good crowd as well.
9. Buenos Aires:
Usually travelers in Argentina do not miss the chance to visit the city – Buenos Aires. This is the cosmopolitan city that attracts all types of visitors and mostly known for the night life, foods, European atmosphere and Tango. The buildings of the city are made with the finest materials and thus they look stunning. The shopping streets, crowded parks, the former bullfighting site etc. have made this Latin American city enjoyable to the outsiders. Though the city is in Argentina, it appears that this any city of Europe for its lively metropolis and busy avenues. This is a very special places where the travelers fall in love with everything. Many of the people are in love with the tango and keep practicing it everywhere they go. Since the city is inhibited by a large number of people of different origin, the foods are different and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants selling numerous types of foods including juicy beef steaks. Vegetarians are also found in some parts of the city and they accordingly take foods after their needs. Majority of the streets are laden with stores selling a wide range of products that cannot be estimated. The large shopping malls are also good place for shopping and friendly for family members. It is said that Buenos Aires is the city that never sleeps at night and this is a really a perfect title for the city. Generally, the restaurants open after 9.00pm while the bars and clubs open at midnight and at or after 2pm respectively. So, this the city to visit round the night and has turned into a top tourist destination for Argentina.
10. Cerro de los Siete Colores:
Cerro de los Siete Colores is one of the hills which is related with geological history. This is also known as the Hill of Seven Colors. The color of the hill is different from the other hills due to the geological sediments and movement of the tectonic plates. The hill is located on the border of Quebrada de Purmamarca. The hill is also known as the Hill of Seven Skirts and the second name has appeared as the hill color is similar to the traditional skirt of the Andean women. This is a unique site in Argentina and there are seven different colors of the rocks of the hill. It is said that the colors of the rocks have been formed in different periods and elements. Legends go that in the beginning of the human settlement in this locality, everything was without any color and the young children have painted the hills by night times to surprise the locals. But the geological information tells something different than this. The hill takes the best shape in the early morning and now is a great place for the outside visitors. Usually people come here to hike or walk and there are arrangements for riding on horses and bike tours.
